The team at Qatch is proud to have been awarded the Taxi Innovatie Prijs 2023, presented today at Taxi Expo ’23 in the Netherlands, at the close of the National Contract Transport Congress.

The award recognises innovation in transport technology and was presented to Qatch in front of the Dutch taxi industry’s leading professionals, operators, and decision makers.

For founder Emmal Khan, the recognition carries personal weight. “We have worked incredibly hard recently,” Khan said after receiving the award. “In the beginning, you always have people who do not believe in your idea, while you do. This gives so much satisfaction. We have made it happen.”

What Qatch does

Qatch connects the commercial and contractual taxi market through intelligent and automated dispatching. The platform is built around a fundamental problem in professional transport: the market for self-employed drivers is fragmented, and transport operators have historically had no efficient way to reach and deploy them.

“We are a kind of marketplace for rides. Approaching self-employed drivers is not easy because the market is fragmented. Carriers can rely on a platform instead of going through all those individual drivers. In doing so, we eliminate a major pain point.”

Every company and every driver on the platform has their own account, giving operators full visibility of driver availability and capability. “This allows carriers to see whether a driver can perform both street taxi services and targeted group transport. In that respect, Qatch is flexible product. As an entrepreneur, you can do almost anything with it. Especially in the world of mobility, Qatch is interesting for almost every party.”

Looking ahead

The Taxi Innovatie Prijs 2023 is a meaningful milestone for a platform that has been building steadily and deliberately since its founding in Eindhoven. The award is recognition not just of
what Qatch has built, but of the problem it is solving at a moment when professional transport in the Netherlands and across Europe is changing quickly.

For the drivers, operators, and transport companies already on the platform, it is confirmation that the infrastructure they have been building their businesses on is recognised as among the most forward-thinking in the industry.
